How SnapToCal handles schedule content, account information, calendar access, and your choices.

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Overview

SnapToCal helps users turn schedules into calendar events. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Process

  • Schedule content you submit, including typed text, images, and PDFs.
  • Parsed calendar event details such as title, time, location, description, and guest information.
  • Calendar metadata needed to show writable calendars and add selected events.
  • Account, entitlement, purchase, and usage information used for scan limits and subscriptions.
  • If you use shared households: the household name, family profile names and colors, membership and role records, invitation status, and related creation and update times.
  • Content-free device, usage, and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
  • Email addresses voluntarily submitted for support or iPhone launch updates.

How We Use Information

  • To extract calendar events from schedules and return editable results.
  • To add selected events to the calendar you choose.
  • To compare revised schedules with recent imports and apply the changes you approve.
  • To let invited household members view and edit shared family profiles, when household sharing is available.
  • To enforce free and paid scan limits.
  • To verify and manage SnapToCal Pro subscriptions through Google Play.
  • To provide customer support, understand feature usage, and improve service reliability.
  • To respond to support requests and send requested iPhone launch updates.

AI Processing

Schedule content may be processed by Google's Gemini service through SnapToCal's backend service to extract event details. We send only the information needed to perform the requested scan and return structured event results. SnapToCal does not use schedule content for product analytics.

Website Analytics and App Links

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits. Links to Google Play include the website page, link placement, and a broad traffic category, such as search or referral, to help distinguish acquisition sources. These link tags do not include schedule content, your email address, or the original referring page's URL. We do not add a personal tracking identifier to these links.

Shared Households and Device Accounts

Household sharing is optional. Household names, shared family profile names and colors, and membership information are stored by SnapToCal's backend and made available to members of that household. Use only names or nicknames you are comfortable sharing and have permission to provide. An invitation lets its recipient join as a member who can edit shared profiles; share codes only with people you intend to invite. The backend stores a hash of an invitation code, together with its expiry and acceptance or revocation status.

Household sharing does not upload your calendar identifiers, calendar mappings, event history, or calendar contents to the household service. Each device selects its own calendar for each family profile. Sharing a household does not grant Google Calendar access or share a Google calendar; manage those permissions in Google Calendar separately. Schedule content you submit for extraction is still processed as described above.

Current household-preview accounts are anonymous and tied to one app installation. They are not linked to a recoverable email or Google sign-in. Uninstalling, clearing app data, or changing devices can permanently lose access to that household account. Restoring a Google Play purchase does not restore the old household account. Contact support before clearing app data if you need help with household access or deletion.

Third-Party Services

SnapToCal relies on service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for backend services, Google Play Billing for subscriptions, Google Calendar and Android calendar APIs for calendar actions, and Google Gemini for event extraction. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services. We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app, maintain account state, support subscriptions, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and honor deletion requests. Some billing and transaction records may be retained when required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Support and launch-update emails are retained only as long as needed to respond, provide the requested updates, or until you ask us to remove them.

In current versions, recently added event history used for undo and schedule updates is encrypted and stored on your device, not in SnapToCal's backend. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes that local history. Calendar events you already added remain in the calendar you selected until you remove them there.

Shared household data remains on the backend until it is removed or an applicable account-deletion request is completed; uninstalling alone does not delete it. Leaving a household removes your membership but does not delete shared profiles used by other members. Deleting the owner's account also deletes that household and its server-side profiles, memberships, and invitations. Other devices may retain previously downloaded household information until they refresh or clear local app data. Events already added to calendars are not deleted by these actions.

Your Choices

  • You can choose which detected events are added to your calendar.
  • You can disable duplicate checks, guest invites, and SnapToCal attribution in Settings.
  • You can manage or cancel SnapToCal Pro through Google Play.
  • You can choose not to use shared households. Members can leave; owners can revoke unused invites or remove members. Contact support to request deletion of an owned household.
  • You can request deletion of SnapToCal account data at our delete-data page.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information processed by SnapToCal. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

SnapToCal is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to SnapToCal, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
